Enduring Power of Attorney - EPA
Effective Estate planning goes beyond preparing a Will. An Enduring Power of Attorney is a legal document that is extremely helpful when times are tough. An 'EPA' lets you appoint someone to make decisions about your assets, such as your business, real estate and bank accounts. It lets you nominate someone to act on your behalf, and endures, even if you become unable to make your own decisions. It is critical that you prepare an EPA while you have capacity. Once you lose capacity, it is too late.
Often, a married couple will have appointed each other as their enduring power of attorney. Or they appoint their partner and an adult child.
We always recommend that people have an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA).
The cost of an Enduring Power of Attorney Document is $220 (inc gst). If we are preparing your Will, we prepare an EPA for you, for FREE.
