When Pete Townshend wore a battered old pair of Dr. Martens boots on stage in 1967, he catapulted the modest workwear brand into the world of rock and roll. The Who’s revolutionary live shows smashed their way to the top of the British mod scene and throughout America, and Dr. Martens were with them every step of the way. As the band’s fame and notoriety exploded, the boot became as iconic as Townshend’s infamous scissor kicks and jumps, becoming a symbol of defiant self-expression. The guitarist and songwriter credited his footwear for his energetic stage moves, claiming “With my new Air Soles, I literally started to fly. Their toughness combined with their flexibility is what made them so perfect for the pseudo-athletic routines I performed on stage.”
And without further ado, the latest addition to the O’Shea and Dyer Team, Emma Donald also accredits her flight, toughness and flexibility, but also her enriched experience and allegiance to our vision, to her trusty Dr. Martens. Shoes aside, we recently welcomed Emma Donald into the O’Shea & Dyer family and our growing team of experienced Family Lawyers. Emma works alongside experienced lawyers Ivan Baxter, Cathy Fon and Jodi Dingwall.
Emma Donald is an experienced Family Lawyer who has been practicing exclusively in family law since 2015. She has a special interest in domestic abuse cases and can assist with all types of family law situations including parenting matters, property settlement, child support, child safety and domestic violence. She is a Townsville girl, graduating from JCU with a Bachelor of Laws and completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at QUT.
Emma’s passion is to assist people through Family Law issues as amicably and kindly as possible, particularly when children are involved. She recognises the importance of providing clients with practical and holistic legal advice and representation. Emma seeks to ensure that her clients understand the processes involved with Family Law and works hard to achieve affordable, excellent outcomes, while wearing Dr. Martens. She is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and has a strong focus on making sure clients feel in control and involved in their matter.
